GPR Tournament - a HUGE Success!

At the weekend Sporty Kidz were involved in running the Goldsworth Park Rangers FC tournament, an annual event which had over 2000 children enjoying two days of football at Wishbone Way Rec.

Sporty Kidz ran the Under 5 and Under 6 age groups, with the U5s taking part in fun football drills, matches, and a penalty shoot out with the new GPR FC Mascot WISHBONE! All our under 5's were then presented with a gold medal!

The U6s were involved in a fun football tournament, with 4 Sporty Kidz teams, Sporty Kidz Reds, Blues, Whites and Yellows;
all trained by Sporty Kidz coaches and joined by other local teams, from Woking Cougars, Meadow Sports, Send United, Skills FC and Woodley United.

Sporty Kidz director & coach, Ellie Beagley, said: “I’m so proud of all our U5s & U6s who took part in the event this weekend.

This was the first ever tournament that the Under 6s had played in and our teams were fantastic! It was lovely to see the budding young footballers in action, watching children laughing, giving high 5s and enjoying their football; and the proud moment of watching them score their first ever goals!

There were some wonderful memories made to cherish forever, from the children's first win, their first goal and their first football medal!

I'd like to also thank all the parents for their help, especially those who helped run our teams over the weekend and to the new mascot Wishbone for making the childrens' day!

I'm excited to announce that I have now booked us another friendly v Send United on Saturday 22nd June so the children can continue to prepare for their step up to competitive football at U7s for Goldsworth Park Rangers FC."

Sporty Kidz run football sessions every Saturday morning from 10am - 11am at Goldsworth Park for 3-6 year olds, or Thursday's 6-7pm.

The sessions are run on a pay and play basis, with no joining fee. The cost is just £3 per sessions, for more information please contact Ellie Beagley at info@sportykidz.co.uk
