14th June 2017
Last weekend Sporty Kidz were involved in running the Goldsworth Park Rangers FC tournament, an annual event which had almost 2,500 kids enjoying two days of football at Wishbone Way Rec.
Sporty Kidz ran the Under 5 and Under 6 age groups, with the U5s taking part in fun football drills, matches, and a penalty shoot out. The children were then presented medals by the new Woking FC Manager Anthony Limbrick.
The U6s were involved in a fun football tournament, with 3 GPR FC teams, trained by Sporty Kidz coaches and 12 other teams, from West Byfleet, Worplesdon, Woking Cougars, Meadow Sports, Send, Ewhurst and Mayford Athletic.
Sporty Kidz director & coach, Ellie Beagley, said: “I’m so proud of all our U5s & U6s who took part in the event this weekend.
This was the first ever tournament that the Under 6s had played in and our teams were fantastic! It was lovely to see the budding young footballers in action, watching children laughing, giving high 5s and enjoying their football; and the proud moment of watching them score their first ever goals!
There were some wonderful memories made to cherish forever, from the children's first win, their first goal and their first football medal!
I'd like to also thank all the parents for their help, especially Sam Loxton and Matt Scott who helped run our teams over the weekend and to the new Woking FC Manager Anthony Limbrick, for taking the time out of his busy schedule to come down to our GPR FC Tournament to present medals to the children. With the exciting season ticket deal launched at Woking FC, with over 1800 sold, it was good for fans and new fans to get to speak to him a about his exciting plans for his first season.
I'm excited to announce that I have now booked us another friendly v Woking Cougars this Saturday 17th June so the children can continue to prepare for their step up to competitive football at U7s for Goldsworth Park Rangers FC."

Anthony Limbrick, First Team Manager at Woking FC, said: "It was great to come down to the GPR FC tournament and link in with the community. The set up was impressive with over 2000 young players involved in the games. The players and parents were most supportive throughout the day and it was a positive to see so many boys and girls of all ages enjoying their football."
Mark Bateman, Chairman at GPR FC, said: "We are really happy with the Sporty Kidz team running our football training for 3-6 year olds at GPR FC. They make sure the children all have fun and enjoy their football which is evident from the high numbers that attend week in, week out."
